What is a digital archive?
A digital archive is a system designed to assure trustworthiness and the long term retention of digital documents.
An archive is best suited for documents that don't change regularly such as contracts, wills, and other legal documents, medical or dental images, tax records, financial documents etc.
True archive systems support document level retention policies to comply with regulations like Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), SEC 17a-4, HIPAA, MiFID and others. For instance, you can configure your Casdex archive to destroy a client document exactly seven years after it was archived.
